On November 30, 2023 partner ABEE officially opened its headquarters in Ninove, Belgium. The inauguration took place in the presence of the Flemish Minister-President and the US Ambassador. The opening was attended by over 150 people, among whom, ministers, diplomats and executives from several countries attended. At the event, ABEE signed memorandums of understanding with Huayou Holding Group Co., Ltd. and BMSer Technology.

The event was a success, marked by insightful speeches, meaningful discussions, and valuable networking opportunities.

ABEE’s center is equipped with new laboratories and facilities that allow it to operate across the battery value chain. From battery cell optimization and prototyping to their integration into module and packs, to the final recycling, these are just some of the activities that the center will support. It is the largest in the region and will greatly enhance ABEE presence in the battery industry. In addition, ABEE is currently building a battery pack factory in Seneffe, Wallonia with an annual capacity of 3 GWh.

The ABEE R&D center will particularly impact the CoFBAT project and allow ABEE to exploit its learning and results from the project to further support the European battery ecosystem with next-generation battery technologies.
